A scuba diving checklist prevents the classic jetty moment: realising your computer is still charging in the hotel. Use this printable-style list before travel days and before each splash.

Travel packing

  • Mask, fins, snorkel, boots
  • Exposure suit suited to destination temperature (Red Sea vs Tenerife differ)
  • BCD / wing, regulator set, computer, spare batteries
  • SMB, whistle, cutting tool, torch + backup
  • Certification cards / digital proof, insurance documents
  • Reef-safe sunscreen, meds, motion sickness plan if needed

Day-of dive checklist

  1. Analyse gas / confirm mix labels if nitrox
  2. Computer on, paired transmitters checked
  3. Buddy brief: route, max depth, turn pressure, lost-buddy plan
  4. Weights confirmed for exposure suit
  5. Cameras secured; ID goals noted for after the dive (identify app)

After the dive

Log depth/time, rinse gear, charge batteries, and note species for later ID. Use Scuba Steve’s surface-interval tools only as time checks—not as decompression clearance.
